Dear Sir or Madam,
On March 26, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Society for Inborn Errors of Metabolism (GfAS) at the Langenbeck-Virchow Haus in Berlin. (https://gfas.de/willkommen-gfas2026/)
With one million people living with an inborn error of metabolism in Germany, the event will focus on their care, necessary structural measures, rapid scientific and therapeutic progress, and the resulting high costs for the healthcare system, as well as case reports and the patients’ perspective. Affected families and technical experts will share their insights. The event will conclude with a public panel discussion on the topic, featuring participants such as Dr. Reinhardt, President of the German Medical Association; Prof. Grüters-Kieslich, Chair of the Board of the Eva Luise and Horst Köhler Foundation for People with Rare Diseases; Nora Seitz, Member of the Bundestag Health Committee; and other medical experts.
Please send press registrations to lew@studio12.at.
We look forward to your attendance.
On behalf of the GfAS,
Prof. Dr. Ute Spiekerkötter
Chairperson of the GfAS
